In the City of Brooks, licenses for dogs are mandatory. We do have voluntary licenses available for cats, and although they are not needed, they are very advisable. When the tags are bought they are lifetime tags, this means that from year to year, you keep the same tag, and just renew the number. Renewal forms are sent out each year about one month before your renewal date. Your renewal date will be the same month in which you purchase you license.
You can download a form, fill it out and submit it one of two ways.
1 - Take the filled out form to one of the local vet clinics, pay the appropriate fee, receive the tag at that time.
2 - Mail in the filled out form to us (address is available on our "contact us" page) with payment (Money Order), we will mail your tag to you. If you prefer, we can accept your payment though paypal, just be sure to include your name and specify that it is for a license in the comment box.
If you would like to pay your renewal online, please be sure to include your name, any changes in address, what kind of tag (dog, cat or restricted), and the tag number in the comments box.
*Please note* Due to a particular bylaw within the town of Brooks, there is a restricted dog list. Dogs appearing on this list require a "Restricted Dog License", a copy of the bylaw is available for download on this page. If a persons dog appears on this bylaw, we advise them to print the bylaw along with the license form and keep it in their records.
