About our shelter

 No-kill rescue and adoption

The Brooks Animal Protection Society (BAPS) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization serving Brooks, County of Newell and surrounding communities since 1995 (previously known as the Brooks & District SPCA). In 2005, The Board of Directors approved the ending of the term S.P.C.A. and the Brooks Animal Protection Society (BAPS) was formed. BAPS new location was graciously donated by the City of Books, after endless hard work from our community and volunteers.

Today, BAPS remains as a no-kill facility, as we continue to provide compassion, protection, placement and education to ensure responsible animal care in our community. Our funding primarily comes from donations, and many of our activities are made possible through the generous assistance of volunteers.
